Meet Sir Baxter LongEars, the red son of Wonderland's famous White Rabbit. Allegedly.
Everyone in Wonderland knew Baxter's father. The White Rabbit was famous for his clock, his waistcoat and his extraordinary ability to make everyone else feel late. Naturally, everyone assumed Baxter would follow the family tradition. He did not.
Baxter doesn't do urgent or hurried. He believes time is a construct.
His father left him the clock anyway. Baxter keeps it framed. He has also acquired a moustache, developed impeccable manners and become remarkably comfortable being the only red rabbit in the family.
Some families pass down businesses. Some pass down heirlooms. The LongEars family passed down the clock. Baxter improved the rest.
Part of Meet the Aristocrats, a collection of small original paintings about creatures with names, peculiar family histories, questionable priorities and far too much dignity.
Buy it for
The person who was never going to be a copy of anyone else. The artist in the family. The one who took a completely different path. The person with excellent taste and an unusual way of doing things. Or simply someone who would appreciate the absurdity of being the red rabbit in a family of white ones.
Give Baxter to someone whose individuality is one of the things you love most about them.
Place it in
Baxter is small enough to become a discovery rather than a declaration. Place him on a bookshelf, study desk, bedside table, dressing room, hallway, reading nook, gallery wall or bach. Somewhere people can notice the clock, notice the red, and eventually realise who he is.
